KIGALI, June 19 (Xinhua) -- The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in conjunction with Rwandan government on Monday launched a new project geared toward financial inclusion for refugees in the east African country.
Launched one day ahead of the World Refugee Day, the project is expected to enable the refugees to become economically self-reliant with support to their income generating projects through grants and loans.
The funding will be provided through revolving funds, Seraphine Mukantabana, Rwanda's Minister of Disaster Management and Refugees affairs said at the launch in Kigali.
Under the project Cheap NFL Shirts , the refugees will receive financial and business management skills which will enable them to run profitable businesses such as art craft, clothes and shoe making, according to the minister.
Saber Azam, the UNHCR representative in Rwanda, said that the initiative is part of Rwanda's commitment made during the recent leaders' summit in New York Cheap NFL Jerseys , to allow refugees to be an integral part of the social and economic development of the country.
The partnership is being led by Financial Sector Deepening Africa (FSD Africa), and Access to Finance Rwanda (AFR) among other partners.
FSD Africa will provide 30,000 euros for product development and launch for the three most innovative and impactful new financial products to serve refugees in Rwanda in pilot phase.
