But don’t sleep on the offensive possibilities, either.CSTShareTweetShareShareFour offensive prospects to watch at the NFL Combine Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY SportsIt has been a big week for the draft team at Arrowhead Pride (Craig, Matt, Jake and I). We announced a project that's been in the works for nearly a year. On April 8, we are releasing the first ever edition of the KC Draft Guide. We'll have over 200 prospect write-ups, specifically about how prospects fit the Chiefs. There will be big boards, more than 300 grades on players, mock drafts, positional rankings and features all specific to the Chiefs. You can preorder the guide for only $6.99 by clicking here. We've been evaluating prospects well before we were writers. Now we're carrying our passion into this project. Even though we're building this guide Mecole Hardman black jersey , we'll be providing more draft content than ever at Arrowhead Pride. We're excited to show you everything we have planned. It's a win-win.The NFL Combine kicks off next week. Here are four offensive prospects we're most excited to watch.Devin Singletary, running back5’ 9” | 200 lbs | Florida AtlanticSingletary has some of the most fun tape of the entire draft class. His lateral explosion to make defenders miss is second to none. He’s exceptional in space and possesses good contact balance. How he weighs in and how he tests will be important for him. If he’s able to come in over 200 pounds and test at a high level, his stock will continue to rise. Getting a chance to display his ability in the passing game and prove that he can be a useful asset in the area of the game would certainly help as well. We currently have a second-round grade on Singletary, and he’s firmly the No. 2 running back in this class. He would be one of the few running backs I’d be excited about the Chiefs selecting on day two.Jace Sternberger, tight end6’ 4” | 250 lbs | Texas A&MMost Kansas fans lament the fact that Jace Sternberger was a Jayhawk to start his college career. The Aggie tight end transferred from junior college after his departure from Lawrence and David Beaty, who had him at defensive end for a stint. Sternberger’s potential was realized in College Station, as he displayed excellent athleticism and natural hands. He projects as a day-two tight end should be if he tests at a high level. He could be excellent value for the Chiefs on the Friday (rounds 2-3) of the draft.Terry McLaurin, wide receiver6 | 205 lbs | Ohio StateMcLaurin was invited to the Senior Bowl in January because of his intriguing athleticism and abilities as a potential special teams ace. He took advantage of that opportunity by parlaying it into buzz as a receiver. McLaurin caught 35 passes for 701 yards and 11 touchdowns. He had excellent production but was Parris Campbell and younger receivers like Chris Olave somehow overshadowed him. Put on his tape and you’ll see an intriguing route runner with athletic traits. The buzz around the Senior Bowl was that McLaurin would be an elite tester at the Combine. We’re about to find out. McLaurin should be an excellent addition to the Chiefs on day three if he’s still there. The closer we get to April, that likelihood is decreasing.Tytus Howard, offensive tackle6’ 5” | 322 lbs | Alabama StateHoward is unrefined technically as a prospect Mecole Hardman Jersey Mens , but the athletic ability is an excellent baseline to work with on a project tackle. The movement skills will be on full display in drills, and the testing should impress. Howard’s measurables are great, and the physicality he shows on tape makes him an intriguing prospect. He’s still got work to do in order to be trusted at the next level, but as a late day two or early day three project, he’s well worth the investment.AP Draft ShowWe discussed these prospects, players that can help themselves at the NFL Combine and answered your questions on this week’s episode of the AP Draft Show. On-field workouts wrap up on Monday in Indianapolis. Here’s who to watch on NFL Network."Kent - Byron MurphyMurphy’s performance will be a moment of truth for Chiefs fans hoping that his athletic profile may keep the demand on him low enough that Brett Veach can make a move to get him. If he nails the testing this week, optimism that he’ll be available in the early-20s for the Chiefs to reasonably trade up will be low. There are varied perspectives about where Murphy ranks in this class. Some, like us at Arrowhead Pride, consider him a top-15 player. The NFL Advisory Committee gave him a round two grade. You’ll see him mocked anywhere from pick 10 to 35 these days. If he tests well this week, you won’t see his name past 20. Craig - Joejuan WilliamsWhile Deandre Baker’s 40 time might be the difference between pick 20 and pick 35 Mecole Hardman Jersey Cheap , Joejuan Williams’ 40 time could be the difference between a round-one pick or a round-three pick. A HUGE cornerback with smooth hips and quick feet — atypical for a player of his stature — Williams’ biggest question is his long speed. Williams showed some occurrences of getting beat deep on tape. As a raw prospect that will need some coaching, he’ll need to have minimal holes in his game to go in the first round. Showing that he can run with faster receivers through a good 40-yard dash will go a long way toward cementing him in that conversation.Matt- Justin Layne Justin Layne has been making waves recently in the scouting world as more people dive deeper into his tape and start to fall for his upside. Layne’s a tall, long CB that has fantastic ball skills and whose highlights compare favorably to everyone else. The expectations is for Layne to be a quality athlete, especially in terms of his long speed and explosiveness. If Layne can come out and showcase above-average agility testing with his frame and length, he could boost his draft stock as people continue to fall for his upside. That’s just the tip of the iceberg for Layne, however, as the positional field drills are probably his most important. Showcasing fluid turns and cuts, which are inconsistent film, could help surge him into round-one discussion.SafetyJohnathan Abram #38 of the Mississippi State BulldogsPhoto by Jonathan Bachman/Getty ImagesKent - Jonathan AbramThe Mississippi State safety checked into the Combine at 205 pounds, 10 less than his playing weight in Starkville. Abram slimmed down to test at a high level Carlos Hyde Jersey , and his stock could certainly rise if he performs well.If the Chiefs need a box safety, Abram makes a lot of sense. He’s one of the most fun prospects to watch in this entire class. He’s a tone-setter for defense and isn’t scared of anyone. He’s an ascending player who answered questions about his tackling ability on his final year of college tape. If Abram shows fluidity in his hips and quick feet, you could see Abram sneak into the back end of the first round. Craig - Amani HookerHooker is a highly intelligent football player out of Iowa. His understanding of route distributions, zone awareness and quick play identification make him an easy day one starter on the mental side of things. However, he hasn’t shown himself to be a great athlete, and it shows up in coverage when asked to carry vertical routes. The AP Draft Team currently projects Hooker as a box safety, but he’s not quite the run defender a team would hope for at that level. If he tests well today, Hooker might enter the conversation as a potential deep safety option — and a very high IQ one at that.Matt - Mike BellA bit more of a sleeper player, Mike Bell is a guy who caught my attention during the year, thanks to an ESPN top-10esque interception. His ball skills when playing deep are fantastic and he looks to have a natural feel on the back end. When playing up near the box Tyrann Mathieu Jersey , he shows aggression and flies up into contact with a good-sized frame. Bell shows the versatility to bounce around both safety positions but has stated he enjoys playing deep the most often because of his ability to see the ball and make big plays on it. The questions looming over Bell are: 1) How fast is he? 2) And can a long frame change direction quickly enough to stick as a deep safety in the NFL? The field drills are worth watching, but he’s a player that could make a splash in the athletic testing portion of the day.
