Somalia is in the midst of a drought after rains failed in November 2016, for a third year in the row. About 615,000 people looking for food and water have been displaced since then.

OCHA said more than 1.2 million people have been reached since the beginning of the year with safe water. More than 1.7 million were provided with improved access to food in March alone.

The attempt to cross the border into what is effectively European Union territory happened at around 6 a.m. local time on Tuesday morning, approximately 24 hours after 187 immigrants successfully stormed a frontier post to gain access to the enclave.
Monday's border crossing had caught both Spanish and Moroccan security forces by surprise, but on Tuesday they were expecting another mass assault on the frontier and on this occasion no immigrants were able to make their way into Ceuta Mikkel Boedker Jersey , although three Civil Guards and around a dozen Moroccan agents were injured.

The dinghy was accepted by the rescue vessel ""Guardamar Polimina"" around 55 nautical miles south of the Spanish port of Almeria and those onboard were taken to port and treated by the Red Cross.
