Through the first four weeks of the season, the Jaguars lead the league in points per game allowed (14.0), total yards per game allowed (259.2) and passing yards per game allowed (164.2). Jacksonville is also in the top-10 against the run (95.0 yards allowed per game). The sacks and interceptions will come, but this unit has proven it doesn’t need to make big plays to beat you because it will simply not allow you to move the football. The defense is absolutely elite and should remain that way all season long. The big names are doing their jobs, but it’s the likes of Tyler Patmon, Taven Bryan, and veteran D.J. Hayden who are all fitting in nicely. Top to bottom this is the best defense in the league four games in.We shall see the true value of this defense when they travel to Kansas City this coming weekend, but the defense has played well enough for this team to be 4-0. So why anything less than an A? Quite frankly, this team has not generated the amount of turnovers that they are capable of and are still underachieving based on their high goals set before the season.
